Rescue teams help pet owners

With power out and snow falling, many pet owners worry about how their animals can cope. The Humane Society of United States rescue response team is picking up pets and taking them to specially prepared shelters to keep them warm and safe until they can return home.

The HSUS is now caring for more than 430 animals in three emergency shelters in New Jersey and New York.

By handling calls for help and providing owners with pet retention solutions, they are helping people recover a little faster from this devastating storm.
